I like to express my support of Kuo-Wei Wu for the ICANN director from ASO.

As a member of Asia Pacific Internet Community, I have observed how he dedicates himself for the advancement of Internet in our region, with quite wide interest, not confined with narrow technical areas, of course which is important, but also broad policy arena, including his committment to AtLarge community as well.

He is a man of integrity, humor, energy, well beyond regional or geographic boundary.

I have known Kuo-Wei Wu for at least a year and a half. He has been a major force in the formation of Asia/Pacific Regional At-Large Organization. Several times when the formation of APRALO was losing momentum, Kuo-Wei's energy and enthusiasm was instrumental in reviving the process. He's been an integral part of the process of APRALO formation even though he did not elect to run for any position. Mr. Wu's energy, humor and common sense are great assets in group work. He is also very well-informed on ICANN issues, another essential component of being an effective appointee to the Board.

He has many pioneering ideas that can contribute to the well-being of the community. He is also out-spoken, active in communication among his peers, and is always aggressive to promote his ideals. His vision would greatly help the development of Internet in ASO.

Dr. Wu advises me that he is being considered for the ICAN Board from the ASO. As I am not a member of the ASO-Announce list, I am sending my comments to you directly.

I have known Dr Wu peripherally since about 1997 or 1998, when I first visited TANET. I have found him to be well informed and able to discuss various aspects of the business of the Internet. In places where I had different information or otherwise disagreed with his viewpoints, I have found him both a capable debater and a willing listener. In this community, both attributes are important to wise leadership.

I support Dr Wu as a member of the ICANN Board.

I would like to express my support of Kuo-Wei Wu for the ICANN director from ASO.

I have known Kuo-Wei Wu for more than 15 years. From 1996 to 2000, I worked for the ministry of education in Taiwan as the director of computer center of ministry of education, in charge of Taiwan Academic Network (TANet) developments and operations. At that time, I found that Kuo-Wei Wu had shown his strong leadership in the network development in Taiwan in general and in the international network policy arena. Not only does he has broad technical background in network development, but also has the energy and enthusiasm to serve for the public interests. Currently, I am a committee member of international affairs of TWNIC and have many opportunities to work with him. I also found him both a capable debater for public interests and a willing listener to cooperate with others. Particularly in the international Internet community, both attributes are extremely important to move things forward and make things happen in the right direction.

I would strongly recommend Mr. Wu for this position. I believe that he will be definitely an important asset of the Internet as a whole and will make significant contributions to the Internet community.

I am writing in support of both Raimundo Beca and Kuo-Wei Wu for their election to the ICANN Board of Directors.

I believe that Raimundo demonstrated great integrity and prudence in his work as an ICANN Board member. This is especially evident in the handling of new gTLDs, which continues to be an important item on ICANN's agenda and will require great leadership.

Kuo-Wei is knowledgeable in IDN and his long tenure at APNIC speaks for itself. Reference from APNIC provide the best support for his contribution and capabilities in international consensus building and policy development.
