It is my great pleasure and confidence to recommend Mr. Ala Al-Radhi for your nomination. I began to Know Ala since many years when we started to work in close and share ideas and knowledge in civic issues, think tanks and trainings, with concentrations on new international and national policies and reforms ideas. Mr. Ala was always a great helper to me and all his colleagues and friends. During his formal work with CIPE, he was always the excellent staff to look for intellectuals and think tankers to promote CIPE mission in Iraq.

Despite of very bad security situation, he did so hard to establish a nation wide advisory council of top leaders (government, think tank, private sector and business people) that promote CIPE media and policy works. His work with me and this advisory council is never forgotten. His pioneer volunteer work with an IT-based project: SENSE (Strategic Economic Needs and Security Enhancement) was so great to gather and invite decision makers. He believes in IT trainings and know-how for all people.

His multi works with the UN and international organizations is always a source of happiness to him because of the willing to serve internationally. Despite of leaving CIPE recently, but he always kept his excellent spirit and motives to help his colleagues and search for new effective ideas and programs. His morals, kindness and beliefs are so highly demanded in the development environments. I am absolutely sure that Mr. Ala will be an excellent candidate for your position. Dear ICANN committee,

It gives me great pleasure to nominate Mr. Ala'a Al-Din J. Kadhem Al-Radhi for the 2007 board seat with ICANN. I know Mr. Ala'a since 1981 and we worked together till 1994 in engineering branch in Iraq and France.

He is one of the most promising persons with whom I have had the pleasure of working. I am so proud of him and wish everyone could know him as well.

I cannot tell you all the people he has helped along the way. If you just mention someone's name to him that is in need, he will do whatever he can to help them.

To sum it up, Ala'a is not only respected by his friends and teammate but by others in his IT branch and in the community. Ala'a is always willing to help out. He cares for all, his co-workers and his community. He advocates for all with the same zeal, energy and determination. Dear board of ICANN 2007 nominations

Regards

It is my deep pleasure and confidence to support the nominations of Mr. Ala Al-Radhi . I started to know Mr. Ala during the late years of the 70’s when we were together students in the college of engineering. I used to see him very active at that time in the main-frame computer center of the college. He was always that kind of intelligent student. In late 80’s we used to be together again as civil servants engineers employees in the ministry of industry in Baghdad . Our state company at that time was called the: State company for industrial and consultation services. Our company was a joint venture with Bechtel. Inc. of USA / San Francisco and Bechtel Inc. Overseas division in UK . As a senior civil engineer, I was in charge of the PC-2 (Petro-Chemical Project) site constructions. Mr. Ala was in charge of all computer activities in our site and the main company HQ. His duties as a computer engineer included all computer concerns, which were new to all staff at that time. Mr. Ala dealt with all these new computer jobs very efficiently. His duties were installing, maintaining and networking these computers under DOS and Novel Netware operating systems. He used to design and teach all the necessary software package training courses such as WordPerfect, Lotus 123 and other engineering software. He used to make frequent site visits to check if everything is in good condition. He did so through very good inventory and follow-up schedule. The company staff included Bechtel people form USA and UK , where Mr. Ala was teaching them by himself also. So his duties were teaching the foreign staff also in addition to Iraqi staff, because of his excellent English skills and high social and morals values. He is so internationally and friendly. He used to make overtime visits to our site to manage our computer needs. He was staying late night to make the job done. His commitment and love to computer works and duties was so great and praised even by the international Bechtel staff. He has excellent technical and management background. Post 1991, we resigned from the government work, where Mr. Ala opened his own private computer business in that hard time when you can hardly see people knows about this new business as a private sector. I used to be one of his computer business customers on my private and company business. His IT business (called Uranus Computing) is known in Baghdad because he was one of the startup people in this field. He has gained this reputation because of his morals and technical skills to serve this new business. He progressed further to gain excellent jobs in Dubai – UAE and United Nations. Although the hard times that we faced in Iraq during the sanctions time, but he always that excellent engineer who improves his skills on the technical and business levels. Post 2003, he started to be engaged in the new field of civil society that serves the needs of people IT and Internet advances. Whenever I see him frequently, I know that he have participated in many regional and international new wings of IT. He is so ambitious engineer that learns to know what is new. His work history, connections and culture side makes him an excellent nominee to any job.. I can assure you that he is an excellent person to your nomination. I am very sure that you will gain his skills and expertise..

Thanks

Dear ICANN Board of Directors Committee

My best regards

I would like to give my full support statement to the nomination of Mr. Ala Al-Radhi. I know him since many years but our relations came stronger and closer after 2003 when I first met him in one of the international UK business conferences held in Amman / Jordan in 2003 when both of us were invited. I was highly touched with his morals, skills and wide range of relations that he have. He does the best, including all his contacts, in networking and IT relations. It is really a very nice feeling to know a person like him with wide skills, relations and morals. He always gathers good related people in a way or another to help promote the business concerned. I am proud of his technical knowledge and his technical and management capabilities of being an international person in IT. I know how much he is involved in advancing his IT security and Internet infrastructure knowledge and connections. Recently, he told me about his selection as a new international Internet leader / Asia region for Public Interest Registry (PIR) organization. I am so confident that he deserves such a place. He can work in any business, civic issues and technical environments related to IT and Internet because he have more than 26 years of associated engineering and management skills through his past work with many companies and international bodies which make him an excellent staff for any international post . He is a man with a positive vision in advancing topics such as the Internet. He has an excellent ability to link business and civic issues. I really wish to see him among your board because I am absolutely confident that you will gain an excellent candidate.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This E-mail is in support of the nomination of Alaa Al-Din Al-Radhi for a board seat with ICANN.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Al-Radhi in 2004 when he joined The Shaw Group working for me as an IT specialist. During his time with The Shaw Group, working in Baghdad Iraq, Mr. Al-Radhi exhibited exemplary skill in his duties and extraordinary devotion to his duties. He is a quick learner, who kept himself abreast of new technologies such as IT security, Telecommunications, IT infrastructure, ICT applications, E-learning and E-government.

While, his stay with Shaw was not as long as I would have liked, I was very impressed with his reliability and skills. He kept himself up to date with the latest events and developments in the IT field, despite many difficult challenges given the current situation in Iraq. Not only is he a team player, very organized and an extremely quick study, he is highly motivated within the IT security and infrastructure arena.

I regretted losing Ala as both a counterpart and an employee and fully believe that any organization would greatly benefit from his knowledge and experience. Should you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Ala Al-radhi for 15 years. I met Mr. Ala Al-Radhi, when I needed some IT help with our family business and were recommended to Uranus Computing, Mr. Al-Radhi's IT firm. I got to know Mr. Al-Radhi quite well; he who is extremely diligent, competent and professional. He helped us fulfill our needs quite quickly.

After immigrating to the United states in 1993, my relationship with Mr. Al-Radhi has continued and through e-mail exchanges through the 90s. Mr. Al-Radhi has helped me resolve many needs and answered my countless questions.

In 2005, I met Mr. Ala Al-radhi in the united Arab Emirates while I was on business in Dubai, and where Mr. Al-Radhi was attending Oracle University. It became clear during our meetings that Mr. Al-Radhi has transformed his skills toward IT of the new millennium. He exceeded my expectations in his IT knowledge , and his approach towards solving problems rivaled those of IT managers in renowned institutions such as Harvard University where I am currently employed. This is despite the difficulties that he and his family has faced living in Iraq through the war since 2003.

Mr. Ala Al-Radhi is a wonderful choice for ICANN board of directors because of his vast knowledge, professionalism, and business-like manner. He is also is fluent in three languages: Arabic, English and French, an asset that will be very useful for an international organization such as ICANN.

To ICANN committee,

I have known Mr. Ala Al-Din Al-Radhi for quite along time when he came to France at the beginning of the 1980s as a trainee in telecommunications engineering in French company Thomson-Csf (Thales today). I remember that he and his wife have been all the time we cooperated together a great help. I found him competent, clever, resourceful, trustworthy and reliable in his commitments as well as respectful of the cultural diversity. They had obviously a sense of international cultures, in addition to a good practice of English, a rare quality for Iraqis at the time. I testify here that he has the necessary skills to work for international organizations such as ICANN.
